OUR BROAD STRATEGY
Christ Centeredness–Keeping Jesus in the center of it all.
We commit to:
- Provide clear next steps in the spiritual journey for staff, caregivers and our children so they can meet the real Jesus.
- Make disciples in all communities where we serve. Our aim is to create clusters of Christ followers, who are role models for our children in those communities.
- Establish Life Groups for children and staff for mentorship, prayer, accountability, outreach and community.
- Embrace camp ministry, including leadership and discipleship training.
OUR CORE PRINCIPLES FOR ENGAGEMENT
- We aim to empower communities and achieve our goals through compliance to the following core principles:
- Being Christ centered: we recognize Jesus Christ is the center of our life and we keep our children and followers grounded in God’s Word and their faith. We seek to honor God in decisions and actions and recognize we don’t have all the answers.
- Ensuring reproducibility: we promote self- reliance, self- supporting approaches, taking care to avoid unhealthy dependency.
- Being culturally relevant: we seek community decision making, leadership, resources and approval where possible, while ensuring that our children’s needs are met in the first instance.
- We refrain from bringing in resources and/or ideas that can’t be replicated or maintained once we leave.
- Seeking balanced partnerships: we work intentionally to establish clearly defined partnerships with equal doses of give and take until all joint commitments have been achieved.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
-James 1:27

Sustainable Development
We follow a sustainable asset-based community development model to empower our communities to:

- To share knowledge and resources with their community at large
- To create true sustainability through progressive transfer of skills and responsibility at all current sites
- Train the children to become self-sufficient, with God’s help
